Description/Features:

“Quit talking and start chalking!”  This is a pool-themed, fun, family-friendly game that everyone will enjoy playing.  Perfect for your family game room. Eight Ball Champ is the third in the Eight-Ball series designed by George Christian, who also has ‘Embryon’ to his credit.  Some consider this game the best of the three.
Its play field design appears simple but yet, is incredibly addicting. It retains the ''old school'' feel, with stand-ups behind drop targets. This machine is a true shooters pinball, with great flipper passing capabilities. It also has a 5-letter rollover (c-h-a-m-p) that you collect at either the top three rollovers, or the left and right inlane. These are changeable by the flippers, and when completed once, you get 2x play field scoring. Doing it a second time gets you 3x play field scoring.  When you make all your shots, you are then prompted to ''shoot the eight ball''.   This game has no ramps and no multi-ball (features that were just being introduced to pinball machines at the time), but are not missed and not needed with this game.  The shots remain challenging. The spinner, for instance is not easy, and a real feel good shot when made!     The game is easy enough to appeal to pinball newcomers, but also challenging enough for pinball enthusiasts.  It’s simple to understand and yet not boring over time.  The game features a spinner, rollover targets, drop targets, and jet bumpers to keep the action moving.
The backglass features colorful artwork, as does the play field.  Don’t let this one pass you by!

Condition

This machine has been fully restored and is in very good condition.  It is fully operational and works 100%.  The playfield was stripped down, mylar removed, and has been clear coated to preserve and protect it for the long term.  All metal playfield parts were polished.
Hundreds of dollars in new parts were installed in this game, including new drop targets.  All the capacitors were replaced on the ‘Squawk and Talk’ sound board, and a remote batter holder installed to prevent acid damage from leaky batteries. Every assembly was taken apart and cleaned, new coil sleeve installed and other parts replaced as needed.  All switches and solenoids have been tested and are working, new rubber rings installed, all lamps replaced, and new flipper parts installed. The displays are the original plasma displays and all segments are working and nice and bright.  Also included is the maintenance keypad, which is frequently missing or broken on this era of Bally machines.
The backglass had significant lifting of the paint across the lower ~3” of the glass.  This has been secured with a clear-coat to prevent any further paint loss.  It’s noticeable, but the glass looks good as-is.  However I also have a flawless replacement backglass available (for an additional cost) if you want a more pristine look!
